How to convert YouTube to MP3

Save the sound of a YouTube video as an MP3 on any device

By · Updated October 9, 2026

Converting a YouTube video to MP3 lets you listen to talks, podcasts or your own recordings offline, on any device. With Klipova the conversion happens while the file downloads — there is nothing to install.

Steps

  1. Copy the YouTube link: Share → Copy link in the app, or the address from your browser bar.
  2. Open YouTube to MP3 and paste the link. The MP3 option is selected for you.
  3. Tap Download. The sound is converted to a 192 kbps MP3 as it downloads.

Where the file goes

  • Windows and Mac: your Downloads folder.
  • Android: Downloads; music apps that scan the phone will find it.
  • iPhone: the Files app → Downloads.

Choosing a format

The quality list also offers YouTube's original audio track (M4A or WebM). It keeps the sound exactly as YouTube delivers it but doesn't play everywhere. MP3 is the safe choice for car stereos, older players and most apps.

Respect the rights of others

Convert only audio you have the right to use — your own uploads, Creative Commons material or content whose licence allows it. Most commercial music is protected by copyright.

YouTube to MP3 questions

Is 192 kbps good quality?

Yes, for almost all listening. YouTube's own audio is compressed, so higher MP3 bitrates can't add detail that isn't in the source.

Can I convert a whole playlist?

Paste the playlist link to see its videos, then convert the ones you want one by one.

How do I get the MP3 into my music app on iPhone?

Open the file in the Files app and play it there, or import it into a music app that supports local files.
