Why stories are different
Posts and Reels from public accounts can be viewed without signing in; stories can't. Instagram shows stories and highlights only to signed-in people. That's why no website can honestly download a story without using the visitor's own Instagram account.
Klipova never asks for your Instagram password or cookies. Instead, the browser extension reads the story in the browser where you're signed in, with your own session. The media goes straight from Instagram's servers to your computer.
What you can save

If you try without signing in
If you paste a story link into the box above, Klipova tells you plainly that stories can't be downloaded anonymously. Sign in to Instagram, then try the story again with the extension.
