How to convert MP4 to MP3

Which bitrate should I choose?

128 kbps is fine for speech such as lectures and podcasts. 192 kbps suits most music. 256 or 320 kbps keep the most detail but make bigger files — they can't add quality the original video didn't have.

Can I convert videos other than MP4?

Yes. MOV, MKV, WEBM, AVI, FLV, WMV and MPEG-TS videos up to 500 MB can be converted to MP3.

How big will the MP3 be?

At 192 kbps, one minute of audio takes about 1.4 MB; at 320 kbps about 2.4 MB.

What if my video has no sound?

Then there's nothing to extract and you'll see a message saying the file couldn't be used.

Is my video kept after conversion?

No. The video is deleted as soon as the MP3 is ready, and the MP3 is removed from our server within an hour.
