Klipova turns a YouTube link into a list of downloadable files. You see every format YouTube makes available for that video — from small 144p and 360p files that are easy on mobile data, to 720p, 1080p, 1440p and 4K where the uploader provided them — and you choose the one that suits you.

For the highest qualities YouTube keeps picture and sound in separate streams. Klipova joins them into a single MP4 while you download, so you get a normal file that plays everywhere, without installing a converter.

Shorts, playlists and audio

  • Shorts: paste the Shorts link just like a regular video.
  • Playlists: paste the playlist link and pick the videos you want from the list.
  • Audio only: keep just the sound track of a lecture, interview or podcast.
  • Links with extras: links that include a playlist, a start time or tracking parameters are cleaned up automatically, so the right video is found.

Private by design

We don't keep a list of the videos you download, and files aren't stored on our servers. Most downloads come straight from YouTube's own servers; high-quality files are streamed to you while they're being joined.

How to download a YouTube video

  1. Copy the video link

    In the YouTube app tap Share → Copy link; on a computer copy the address from the browser bar. Links from playlists and shared timestamps work too.

  2. Paste it into the box

    Paste the link at the top of this page. We read the video details as soon as you paste — there's nothing else to fill in.

  3. Pick a quality and download

    Choose a video quality from 144p up to 4K, or the audio-only option, then press Download to save the file.

YouTube download questions

How do I download a YouTube video in 1080p or 4K?

Paste the video link above and open the quality list. Every resolution YouTube offers for that video is listed; pick 1080p, 1440p or 4K and press Download. At these qualities YouTube stores picture and sound separately, so we join them into one MP4 while the download runs.

Why doesn't my download show a file size?

High qualities are assembled on the fly, so the final size isn't known until the download ends. The download still runs normally in your browser.

Can I save only the audio of a YouTube video?

Yes. Choose an option from the "Audio only" group in the quality list to save just the sound track, for example to listen to a talk or a podcast offline.

Can I download YouTube Shorts and playlists?

Yes. Paste a Shorts link the same way as a normal video. For a playlist, paste its link and choose which videos you want from the list that appears.

Why can't some videos be downloaded?

Private videos, members-only videos, age-restricted videos and live streams that are still running can't be downloaded with the website. Videos protected with DRM, such as purchased films, are never downloaded.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Klipova works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

Is it allowed to download YouTube videos?

Download only videos you own or have permission to use, such as your own uploads or content under a Creative Commons licence. YouTube's terms and copyright law apply to everything you save.
